Andy Roddick has come out in support of Mexican tennis player Ernesto Escobedo who posted a video on social media addressing his stutter and the experiences he had suffering from it.
Escobedo is a fairly decent tennis player who has had a very up-and-down tennis career but spent the majority of his time on the challenger tour. The American-born Mexican tennis player posted a video on social media talking about his condition and how it affected him.

Escobedo talks about his stutter

Ernesto Escobedo took to Twitter to post a video of himself talking about his stutter which comes out at certain times. Whenever he has to talk in public or in front of a large group of people he starts to stutter and it's been something that he's been dealing with since he was a little kid. It's caused him to be bullied, made fun of, even much later in life as he talked about seeing the same behaviour patterns on the ATP tour as well.
The reason for speaking up si simple, he wants to use his platform and help other people who are dealing with a similar thing:
“I want to use my platform. If I can help out one person out there, it would mean the world to me… If there’s anyone that’s going through the same thing, feel free to reach out. I would love to talk to you about it. You’re not alone."

Roddick Shows Support

Andy Roddick responded to the video showing support for his countryman whom he knows due to Escobedo coming through the ranks in the US tennis system. Roddick wrote a comment on the video saying:
“Don’t listen to idiots who don’t fully understand what you’re going through. Keep grinding. Do your tennis, and invest time in people who benefit you and your interests. Ignore the others. You have a fan in me brother."
