"Enjoying watching your rise" - Federer praises Alcaraz after winning US Open

Carlos Alcaraz grew up idolizing Roger Federer and he paid a nice tribute to his childhood hero after the Swiss ace announced his retirement.

Alcaraz paid tribute first on Twitter but then took to Instagram to post a photo of the two together with the caption:

"Roger has been one of my idols and a source of inspiration! Thank you for everything you have done for our sport! I still want to play with you! Wish you all the luck in the world for what comes next!"

Federer took notice of the post and actually replied to Alcaraz praising him for what he has been able to do this year:

"Thanks for your kind words. Enjoying watching your rise. Congrats on the Open Carlitos"
