Three weeks remain until the US Open begins at Flushing Meadows but the organisers face a new threat with the entire top 20 on the men's side at least potentially set to withdraw if one aspect isn't resolved.

This is regarding quarantine when they leave the US Open. Marca newspaper reported that a secret meeting took place; between the ATP, USTA and players via Zoom to hammer out issues.
They want clarity and assurance that when they leave they won't have to go into a 14-day quarantine in Europe; due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was put into place for the Madrid Open; but this has since been cancelled.
Nothing yet has been set in stone and for players such as Rafael Nadal this has meant already withdrawing due to safety concerns regarding the pandemic and it remains to be seen if more players will withdraw as a result of this.
