The entry list for the Brisbane International has been revealed, headlined by Novak Djokovic and an exciting draw featuring Grigor Dimitrov, Holger Rune, Frances Tiafoe, and Nick Kyrgios. The tournament is set to take place from December 30 to January 5.
It will be one of the events kicking off the 2025 season, running parallel to the Hong Kong Open and the United Cup. Despite being an ATP 250 event, Brisbane boasts a highly competitive line-up with ten players from the top 30 in the draw.
Perhaps the biggest highlight is the appearance of Novak Djokovic, marking his first tournament of the season. The 24-time Grand Slam champion, who started last year directly at the Australian Open, has opted for Brisbane this time to gain competitive rhythm ahead of the season’s first Grand Slam. If plans remain unchanged, this will also be the first time Andy Murray appears in Djokovic’s box as his coach.
The second seed is World No. 10 Grigor Dimitrov, the defending champion who won the 2023 title against Holger Rune (World No. 13, third seed). Both are in the draw aiming for strong performances to avoid ranking drops before the Australian Open seeding is finalized.
Other notable names include Americans Frances Tiafoe (No. 18) and Sebastian Korda (No. 22), Chilean Alejandro Tabilo (No. 23), and the top local contenders: Alexei Popyrin (No. 24) and Jordan Thompson (No. 26). Beyond rankings, exciting players will add flair to the draw, including former World No. 5 Matteo Berrettini, who recently helped Italy win the Davis Cup and is eyeing a return to the top tier after injury-marred seasons.
However, the spotlight will undoubtedly be on Nick Kyrgios, playing his first tournament since April 2023. The Australian enters with his protected ranking of World No. 21, and all eyes will be on his level of performance as he prepares for a quick turnaround before heading to Melbourne.
