The Erste Bank Open quarterfinals days is today and the four-match schedule is a brilliant one filled with many spectacular matches.
The Erste Bank Open is down to its final 8 players and one of them will become the new champion but before that, we have to get through Friday's schedule of play which is a fascinating one. Similar to previous days the programme will start at 14:00 CET with a match between
Kevin Anderson and
Daniil Medvedev. It's great to see Anderson back in a quarterfinal and his match against Medvedev will be a great one. Daniil arrived in Vienna in lacklustre form and while it's been improving it's far from where he would like to be. Today's match will be a great test for him. After them, we will see
Andrey Rublev take on
Dominic Thiem. There is not much to say about this matchup as its enough to look at the names playing. Thiem will be the slight favourite considering the crowd effect but no player arrived in better form to Austria than Rublev.
The 3rd match of the day will be between Djokovic and Sonego. It's not a mouthwatering prospect on paper but Sonego played some good tennis in order to reach the quarterfinal. On his day he can be dangerous but Novak should have the upper hand in this match and anything but a straightforward Novak victory would be a huge surprise. The final match of the day which will start at 19:00 is between Dimitrov and Evans. An interesting matchup between two players in solid form. Dimitrov looked impressive in his comeback win against Tsitsipas yesterday and he will need some those nerves of steel against Evans.
