The Swiss Sports Personality Award since being established in 1950 has honoured some of the best athletes from the country but it is an award that Roger Federer has missed out on this time around.
Federer has won the award seven times in his illustrious career beginning in 2003 when he won his first Wimbledon title; as well as 2004, 2006, 2007, 2012, 2014 and 2017 meaning that in a lot of cases he has won it every two years.
He did not though this time finishing second to Christian Stucki which is likely due to him not winning at Wimbledon.
He has still claimed four ATP titles this season lifting three ATP 500 titles and a Masters 1000 title but despite that, he is not in the winners' circle this year.
