A couple of high-profile names will miss the 2022 Wimbledon due to various reasons with Federer, Zverev, Osaka, Medvedev, Rublev, Azarenka and Sabalenka and many more.
So obviously because of the ban on Russian and Belarussian players, many of them are missing the event. Some of the most notable ones include top 10 players such as Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka. There are many more lesser-known players missing the event as well such as Khachanov, Karatsev, Kudermetova, Kasatkina and more.
There are a couple of players that are missing the event due to injuries as well. Sebastian Korda won't play because of shin splints. Leylah Fernandez won't play because of a foot injury. Dominic Thiem is not injured per se but the Austrian is still struggling with coming back from his wrist injury last year.
Venus Williams is also not playing due to an injury but a comeback is in play for the veteran. Alexander Zverev is missing it as well and we all know what happened to him. Naomi Osaka won't play either and her injury didn't heal in time for her to play.
And obviously, the legend himself, Roger Federer whose last event came at last year's Wimbledon also won't play at his beloved event.
