After an utterly dreadful Head to Head record, Jannik Sinner turned the tables at the China Open in Beijing finally sealing victory over Daniil Medvedev in a 7-6(2), 7-6(2).
Trademark clean groundstrokes were divine from Sinner who looked unfazed by his previously torrid record against the Russian.
He joked in the post match ceremony similarly to in Miami when he jibed about his poor clay court record.
This time, it was his poor record that took centre stage and he thanked Medvedev for letting him win one match.
"Daniil, thanks for letting me win at least one match," Sinner joked during the trophy ceremony.
"We have had some very tough battles, especially this year. Thanks for making me a much better player. I have been training a lot to beat you. My team are working a lot. Thank you very much and it is special to share this moment with you."
