Fognini reveals main aim for 2020: 'I hope to reach the goal to qualify for the ATP Finals"

Fabio Fognini has not had the best 2019 but has already set his sights on his main goal for 2020 which is to qualify for the ATP Finals.
Fognini by his own admission said though that certain factors will have to change for him to reach that goal such as a better US Open and he said that the past few years in that tournament in particular have let him down.
The Italian added that he will reach that if he ends up keeping up a certain level as a result which will include a run in that tournament, it could all occur for him that he reaches the season ending event.
“I am very happy that the ATP Finals will be held in Turin from 2021. It’s a good sign for Italian tennis. I hope to reach the goal to qualify for the ATP Finals in 2020. If I keep a consistent level during the season, I can achieve my goal. The bad results in the past editions of the US Open ruined my chance to qualify for London," said Fognini to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

- I heartily disagree with Stubbs here. I mean c'mon! The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
