Oscar Otte took
Andy Murray to 5 sets last night and he enjoyed every second of it saying Murray is his favourite player after the match.
Oscar Otte was very close to a major upset at
Wimbledon against Andy Murray but the Brit found a way to come back from being down 1-2 to win 3-2. Otte is a huge admirer of Murray which he explained after the match. He said:
“He [Murray] actually said if I keep on playing like this… he said
keep on working like this, keep on playing like this. Then the results
will come,” Otte said afterwards. I said thanks, and was great to play him. I told him he’s my icon.
For me, he’s the best ever. I just enjoyed to play against him.”
Otte was deeply inspired by Murray's documentary even admitting he cried watching it. He also said Murray and Federer were the reasons for him playing tennis saying:
“That’s why I started playing tennis. So many years ago
Andy and Roger were already playing. I was just watching them in the
TV. Now I was able to play against these guys on the big stage. That’s
what you’re working for every day at home and on the tournaments, with
your team, with your family and everything.”
