Some tragic news hit the sports world on Thursday when it was announced that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva had passed away due to a car accident.
The duo were reportedly involved in a single-car accident in Spain on Thursday, with the initial reports stating their car veered off the road after blowing a tire. Prior to the accident, Jota had announced his marriage to childhood sweetheart Rute Cardoso, with the couple having three sons.

Wimbledon breaks strict dress code rule to honor the deceased players

Following the tragic news, the Wimbledon organizers allowed players to pay their respects to Diogo Jota and Andre Silva. Known for enforcing an all-white ensemble on their courts, tournament officials gave players permission to wear black ribbons on their shirts as a form of tribute to the brothers.
Nuno Borges, Portugal's top ranked ATP player, was seen sporting a black band on his shirt during his match on Friday. Portuguese doubles specialist Francisco Cabral was also seen wearing a black band on his sleeve, and he later revealed they had been given permission by Wimbledon officials.
"Yesterday someone suggested it and I thought it was a really good idea," said Cabral. "Initially it was a black armband, but through the relations office they told me this morning that they wouldn’t authorize it and the only option they gave me was to wear the black ribbon. So it was that or nothing, and it was an honor."
