Predictions Cincinnati Open WTA

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Coco Gauff or Elina Svitolina winning it.
Coco Gauff and Elina Svitolina for me are two to bookmark. Both had good weeks in Canada but both fell short in the end.
Svitolina in particular for me is one to mull over. Also I see a surprise player coming out of the woodwork ala Linda Noskova in returning fully to action as well as Iva Jovic, Amanda Anisimova among others.
Jovic won Guadalajara last year and knowing her, she potentially could win a title of this magnitude then not play Mexico due to the points won. A big hypothetical but one I see happening.
** Coco Gauff
** Elina Svitolina, Iva Jovic
* Amanda Anisimova, Linda Noskova
Lucas Michael, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Jessica Pegula winning the title.
Another opportunity for the best WTA players in the world as the US Open comes into view. First up is the Cincinnati Open, another massive tournament by its own right.
After predicting Aryna Sabalenka to win the Canadian Open, I am going to avoid making the same slip-up once more but can see a realm where everything clicks and she blows everyone away enroute to the title. However, I believe her mind is on the US Open and that could take her full focus.
Back in the USA, Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula will be getting a lot of support from the home crowd. Both players have had their moments this year and will likely be in the business end of things. I can also see Linda Noskova having a much-improved campaign compared to Toronto after that Wimbledon title has finally sunk in.
The big question is whether Iga Swiatek or Elena Rybakina will travel down to Cincinnati and take part in the event following their Canadian Open final. Both players will have a lot of momentum behind them, but it is an exhausting effort and their cites could also be on Flushing Meadows.
I like the look of Pegula and I can see her stringing an impressive run of results to fire past the field, maybe with a number of top players exiting early, to win the title in Ohio.
*** Jessica Pegula
** Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff
* Linda Noskova, Mirra Andreeva, Elina Svitolina
Cristhian Avila, Editor for TennisUpToDate sees Pegula winning the title.
Rybakina and Swiatek made the deepest runs in Toronto, which could affect their situation in Cincinnati. A late withdrawal or cautious physical management ahead of the US Open makes it difficult for me to see either as a genuine title favorite. That opens the door for home favorites Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff, who will be looking to capitalize on the conditions and build momentum before New York.
Aryna Sabalenka remains the world No. 1, and Cincinnati is a tournament that suits her game perfectly. Even when her confidence has dipped in the past, she has usually found a way to respond quickly. Alongside Mirra Andreeva, this feels like a key test of where she stands heading into the US Open, especially because neither player appears to be playing with complete confidence right now.
One player who has been producing excellent tennis for months is Diana Schneider, who, as the No. 14 seed, appears to have a favorable path to another deep run. Romanian veteran Sorana Cirstea, seeded No. 15, is another intriguing name to watch as she continues the final season of her career and looks for one more strong WTA 1000 performance.
