Fritz after beginning United Cup campaign with winning effort: "Everyone starts at zero, no pressure"

Taylor Fritz has a pretty unique way of looking at the new season seeing it simply as all players starting from zero points and that makes him really relaxed.

Fritz had the best year of his career in 2022 and many expect him to take the next step in 2023. That includes bigger goals and more pressure on him but he's not putting that on himself. For him a new year is a new chance to prove himself and that's what he'll try to do. It's a pretty unique way of looking at things:

"I feel pretty relaxed. The way I kind of just look at it is every season, I just imagine the points we set at zero. Everything is starting from nothing and we just go from there. I'm not looking at it that I have all these points to defend, I'm top 10, I need to stay here."

He added:

"Everyone starts at zero. Let's just start over, have no pressure, play how I play, and we'll see where we're at at the end of the year. Hopefully, that will be top 10 or top five."

He won an exhibition event in Saudi Arabia to start and won his first offical match at the United Cup.
