Fritz destroys Ivashka in Geneva

A big win for Taylor Fritz yesterday restored his confidence and he showed it today against Ilya Ivashka at the Geneva Open smacking him easily in two sets 6-1 6-2 for the semi-finals.

Geneva is a good place for Fritz as it features a bit of altitude which makes clay somewhat of a more fun experience for the type of tennis he likes to play. It was certainly a good showing today as he completely smashed Ivashka who really had no chance against Fritz in these conditions. Not being that great of a player on clay certainly didn't help.

The first set was 6-1 for Fritz as he dominated rallies with his supreme ball-striking ability. Not much changed in the second set either as he took it 6-2. Fritz was amazing on his serve losing only five points on his serve in the entire match. He didn't face a break point and converted 4 of 7 he had on Ivashka's serve for the quick win. Only 52 minutes, doesn't get much better than that.
