Fritz set for ATP Finals after Alcaraz injury, Hurkacz and Rune currently alternates

After the announcement of Carlos Alcaraz being out of the ATP Finals due to injury, Taylor Fritz will make his debut in Turin.
Fritz becomes the fifth American player to play the end of year finals since 2010, the most different players of any country.
This includes Andy Roddick, Mardy Fish, Jack Sock and John Isner spanning from 2010-2018 and now Fritz will take his spot.
Holger Rune is into tomorrow's final in Paris but can only be an alternate with Hubert Hurkacz currently ahead of him but that could still change with a title win and the Dane will be first in if anyone withdraws.

The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
