Morgan Riddle has responded after the drama that surrounded her yesterday amid stories posted during and after her boyfriend Taylor Fritz defeated Alexander Zverev.

Riddle posted on her story yesterday before and during the match including a quote of 'when your man wins for the girls'. That post in particular was swiftly taken down but not before the media had seen it and those on social media. She was called iconic by many but posted a statement that it was blown out of proportion and there isn't any bad blood on their end towards Zverev.

This is despite the story seemingly leaning into the allegations that have surrounded Zverev for the past few years of domestic abuse most recently by his ex-girlfriend and mother to his child Brenda Patea which was settled in court. But she was quick to row back on it during her statement.

"Regarding my stories yesterday, I took them down as soon as I realised the misunderstanding and how blown out of proportion they had become by the media," said Riddle.

"They were not about anything that's happened off the tennis court and there's no bad blood between anyone. Super proud of T (Fritz) for the match yesterday. Thank you to the crowd for the support and looking forward to tomorrow."

Zverev without naming Riddle also hit out at a member of his team who is not from the tennis world for their actions in the box and had a lengthy chat with Fritz at the net after the tie. Fritz tried to diffuse the situation but the drama was already circulating.

“Towards the end, I thought from the fourth and fifth set, I was really struggling to serve, as well, to jump off on my leg, to create some power," said Zverev.

“His team is extremely respectful. I think his coach, his physio, also his second coach, they're extremely respectful. I think there's some other people that maybe are in the box that are not maybe from the tennis world, that are not maybe from particularly watching every single match. They were a bit over the top.

“That's okay. No issues. No drama. He fought back from two sets to love, so they're obviously all excited, very pumped up, yeah. But no issues with Taylor. I think Taylor is a great guy. I have absolutely no issues with him.”
