Goran Ivanisevic, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Darren Cahill among leading nominees for ATP Coach of the Year in 2023 Awards

As the 2023 ATP season coming to an end, the nominees for the Coach of the Year have been released, with a few coaches being recognized for their impact on player's performances.

The Coach of the Year Award is voted on by fellow ATP coach members, and it goes to the ATP coach who helped guide his players to a higher level of performance during the year. With numerous ATP stars taking a big leap this season, there were several options but the list was shortened down to the best five player performances.

Grand Slam champions and rapid risers dominate the list

Goran Ivanisevic, coach of Novak Djokovic was nominated for guiding the Serbian to not only three Grand Slam titles but also ending the year as World No.1.

Juan Carlos Ferrero coached ward Carlos Alcaraz to his first Wimbledon title this summer, in addition to the World No.1 ranking which rotated between the Spaniard and Djokovic for much of the year.

Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi both were vital in helping Jannik Sinner rediscover his form, as the Italian went on a tear towards the end of the season. Not only did Sinner look impressive during the year-ending ATP Finals, but the youngster also defeated Djokovic twice in one day en route to claiming his first Davis Cup title for Italy.

Craig Boynton, coach of Hubert Hurkacz, who won two titles in 2023, Marseille and the Shanghai Masters. Furthermore, the Polish star found his way back into the Top 10, and ended the year with a 45-24 win-loss record.

Bryan Shelton, father and coach of Ben Shelton, left his job to coach his son during Ben's first full year on tour as an ATP Professional. The young Shelton reached the US Open semifinals, won his maiden ATP title in Tokyo, and ended the year ranked inside the Top 20.
