Grigor Dimitrov has received widespread acclaim after a heartwarming gesture towards a disabled fan in a moment also shared by Novak Djokovic at the
Open 13 Provence in Marseille. The Bulgarian received a bye in the first round in Marseille and then faced Sebastian Korda in the second round.
Dimitrov dominated the first set 6-1 and prevailed 7-6(5) in a tiebreak in the second set to seal his spot in the Quarter-Finals. But the highlight came when the World No.13 spotted a fan in the crowd post match.
Dimitrov took off his wristband and handed it to the fan, before taking a few selfies with him to make his day. The crowd cheered and applauded and journalist Jon Wertheim in particular lauded Dimitrov in resharing the post.
"When People Show You Who They Are, Believe Them"t….this guy was a prince when he broke through as a teenager. He is now 32, and has nothing to disprove that," Wertheim wrote on X formerly known as Twitter.
