World no. 19 Grigor Dimitrov will not work with Andre Agassi in 2021, adding Dante Bottini to his coaching staff. Grigor will not compete in Antalya or Delray Beach, opening the season in Melbourne.
After working with Kei Nishikori and Nicolas Jarry, Bottini will lead the former ATP Finals champion, trying to navigate Grigor back into the top-10. Dimitrov won 18 matches in 2020 and failed to make progress through the ATP list after staying away from the title matches.
Grigor was the semi-finalist in Acapulco, losing to Rafael Nadal in straight sets and playing well again in Rome in September, falling to Denis Shapovalov in three sets. The Bulgarian finished the season with an indoor streak in Antwerp and Vienna, suffering a tight loss to Alex de Minaur in Belgium and Daniel Evans in Austria.
Dimitrov won four titles in his career-best season in 2017, conquering the ATP Finals on his debut to enter the top-3 and never reaching that level again.
