Novak Djokovic won his 20th Grand Slam at Wimbledon a few days ago and Eurosport tennis analyst Mats Wilander says he can player 10 more years.
Mats Wilander has been a longtime admirer of Novak Djokovic and the former tennis pro is not alone in that regard. There are many admirers on Djokovic both among professional circles and tennis fans. Boris Becker said Djokovic is an inspiration to Federer and Nadal and while neither confirmed that it's likely.
Speaking about Djokovic, Federer and Nadal he said:
"When you look at Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal, you say: 'Ok, why not another year or two,' and then after you see Novak, you think: 'Come on, ten more years!" Djokovic is smarter than before."
Wilander believes Djokovic is much smarter in both his playstyle and calendar management. The Swede believes he could play for many more years, unlike Federer and Nadal. Wilander added:
"The margin that Novak Djokovic has over the others is immense. How can he be so dominant on grass without having the serve of
Pete Sampras or Roger Federer? I don't believe that Novak got any better on one particular shot; he added strings to his bow instead, especially in his approach to the net. It's not so much his on-the-fly
technique that amazes me as his defense. He knows exactly where to stand
and how to move."
