Although there is a lot of debate about who is the greatest tennis player ever, Tennys Sandgren believes that the label should go to Novak Djokovic.
The American has faced the World No.1 on four occasions. losing all four with their most recent encounter occurring in the first round of this year's French Open. Sandgren has in fact only taken one set off Djokovic in all their meetings, at their US Open clash in 2018.
When asked about what it was like to face the him on the court, the 30-year old was full of praise for the Serbian.
"Djokovic is the best ever," said Sandgren. "We do one thing and he does another. We try to hit a winner, while he places the ball in difficult areas, where it is impossible to surprise him. He suffocates you slowly. What he does is just incredible."
Djokovic will be competing at the US Open, where he hopes to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the other three Major titles this year.
