After his commanding third round win, @carlosalcaraz is feeling healthy and ready to go 💪 He stopped by the TC Desk to talk about his performance and his time with tennis legend @AndreAgassi in Vegas. #TennisParadise
Carlos Alcaraz was recently playing in the Netflix Slam where he saw off a certain Rafael Nadal in a highly anticipated exhibition match. He defeated Nadal 3-6, 6-4 (14-12) to win the trophy. But a certain Andre Agassi was on commentary.
Alcaraz said that at the exhibition event he had asked Agassi about how he maintained his best throughout his career in terms of ranking and intensity and he said that the American legend told him that he needs to give 100% in order to maintain that.
Next up at Indian Wells for Alcaraz is Fabian Marozsan who he famously lost to last year at the Rome Open in a landmark win for the Hungarian. The winner will face either Alexander Zverev or Alex de Minaur in the Quarter-Finals with the former being a potential revenge match from the Australian Open. Will he heed the advice of Agassi though? Time will tell.
"Well, I ask him [Andre Agassi] for a few tips, a few things about how he was doing during his career, how he dealt with the pressure or how he stayed at the high- rank or the high intensity during almost his whole career. He told me that ‘you have to give your 100% every day, or if you feel at your 80%, you have to give you 100% of that 80%. He told me the importance of every day. You cannot miss nothing in a day,” Alcaraz said.
