Novak Djokovic will enter the 2022 season as the best player in the world but there are those who question whether he will finish like that.
Djokovic has shown signs of weakness this year despite almost claiming the impossible calendar slam. The Serbian is still playing at a high level but his competitors, most notably Medvedev and Zverev, are finding a higher great which is making things tougher for Djokovic. Tomas Berdych knows Djokovic well and he thinks the Serbian is a bit more fragile entering 2022.
He said:
"He's going to have more of a difficult time next year, definitely. I'm not saying he has no chance of winning a Slam - he has a pretty good chance - but I think he's going to have to avoid a tough match which will drain him over five sets because it's two weeks, seven matches, and you need to stay healthy."
For Berdych healht is the mosti mportant part when it comes to Djokovic. Not one who breaks down easily, Djokovic did have injuries in the past that have kept him from playing his best. As he is getting up there in age, Berdych could see him struggle with injuries more:
"He's been so strong where nothing could break him, which is why he has been dominating, but I think now he's getting a little bit more fragile. Next season is going to be interesting. I think he's got the chance of winning at least one Grand Slam next year,"
