Holger Rune defeated
Novak Djokovic at the Rome Open proving himself as a really good lay player and potential
Roland Garros winner according to Jim Courier.
Rune had a really good run in Paris last year losing to Casper Ruud who ended up taking on Nadal in the final. He's even better this year and certainly more ready for with former player Jim Courier believing that he can do it. Speaking for the Tennis Channel as an analyst the former player said:
"It's more of a big deal for Rune than for Novak. This is a guy who is not short of confidence, a guy who has now beaten Novak twice in a row in big matches."
Courier continued:
"He made the quarter-final of Roland Garros last year and he was a shadow of the player he is now so that's how good he is right now. I think he could one of the guys to lift the trophy at Roland Garros. He's not afraid of it for sure and he has no scar tissue of coming closer. In many ways I like his chances more than someone like Jannik Sinner.
