German tennis star Alexander Zverev has been impressive since coming back from a threatening injury in 2022, and compatriot Boris Becker believes the former World No.2 is on his way to reclaiming his former glory.
Zverev suffered a horrific injury at the 2022 French Open, where he slipped and damaged ligaments in his ankle. Although he had to take extended time off to recuperate, the 26-year old recovered and has slowly began to make his ascent back up the rankings.

Becker believes Zverev still has room to improve next season

The retired German tennis player is of the opinion that Zverev has made an incredible comeback, starting the year ranked World No.27 and ending the 2023 season as World No.7. Becker believes that Zverev's slow start in 2023 will enable him to garner enough points to climb to World No.5 by the middle of the 2024 season.
"That means for him that he can now make up an incredible number of points in the first few months," said the three-time Wimbledon champion when asked about Zverev's prospects next season. "He is now number seven, I see him in the top five in June. The stars are extremely good. He's training hard, is in good spirits - and he deserves it."
