Former player Greg Rusedski thinks that
Carlos Alcaraz is the most technically complete player at age 19 he's ever seen and he thinks that the sport is in good hands.
The Big Three are on the way out and many thought that the sport would be in trouble when they retire but it's becoming clear that it won't be the case. Rising stars are emerging all the time but Carlos Alcaraz is very special among them. According to many, he's going to be very good for a very long time and some have started to claim that he's the best teenager we ever saw.
Rusedski is one of those and he said:
“He’s the most technically complete player I’ve ever seen at 19. He’s almost like a combination of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic rolled
into one. Everyone worried about what’d happen after the ‘Big Three’ are
gone. Well, Carlitos showed up.”
Rusedski is not the only one who had comments like those as several pundits made similar claims. It's on Alcaraz to prove it on the court but so far he's been doing really well. Murray himself said after Indian Wells:
"He's not the biggest guy, but he can serve big. He's an unbelievable mover, a great athlete. Has a lot of variety. Takes the ball on a lot. That's something you hope he keeps.
