Chris Evert compared the very different ways how Raducanu and Rybakina went about becoming first-time grand slam champions which comes down to their personality.
Raducanu's US Open win was very glamorous with the British player becoming a global superstar. Brand fought over her and she was extremely busy with many endorsement deals, something that hasn't really happened with Rybakina despite Wimbledon being the more prize grand slam event.
Part of it comes down to Kazakhstani media not being as impactful on the world stage as British is but part of it is also due to her personality which is a lot more low-key:
"I don't think her personality was one that she took advantage of after winning Wimbledon to the extent that other players have in the past with appearances and magazine covers and endorsements and being on talk shows."
She added:
"I think she lives a very quiet life and she is very happy that way. She doesn't want to get out of her bubble. That's her prerogative. With her personality, I think that she doesn't demand attention, and that is why you don't see her out there like you saw maybe Emma Raducanu or you saw other players after they have won majors."
