Despite being on the outside courts,
Nao Hibino's defeat to
Martina Trevisan didn't fail to cause controversy with the Italian receiving a cold handshake and was called out by the former after winning 6-4, 6-3 at the
Miami Open.
With the quiet atmosphere, sound is amplified and Trevisan's team spent most of the match being very loud which didn't sit well with Hibino. She said: "Your team has zero respect for players."
"When an extremely polite player as Hibino, and as all Japanese, express herself in this way, it means that something really unacceptable has been done on court. Unfortunately this happens quite often with Trevisan," one fan tweeted.
