Italy’s tennis star
Jannik Sinner has achieved yet another
milestone after his recent triumph in the China Open.
The 22-year-old lifted the title after beating the current world
number three Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final with a score of 7-6, 7-6.
That victory was even sweeter as it helped Sinner book his
place in the
ATP Finals for the first time in his career.
Interestingly, it was also the first time when Sinner managed
to get the better of Medvedev in a professional tennis match.
Before facing the Russian tennis star, Sinner also got the better
of Spain’s young sensation and the current world number two Spain’s Carlos
Alcaraz in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 6-1.
The recent developments will be a big boost for the
youngsters who had a tough time while performing in the big events.
Sinner played in all Grand Slams in 2023 but failed to
qualify for the quarterfinal or beyond in any of the big events.
His most notable performance came in Wimbledon in July where
his journey came to end in the semifinals where he lost to Serbia’s legendary
tennis player and the current world number one Novak Djokovic with a score of 6-3,
6-4, 7-6.
