The upcoming ATP 500 ABN AMRO Rotterdam Open, an indoor hard-court tournament played since 1972, will hold its 53rd edition from February 9 to 15 in the Dutch city of Rotterdam. The tournament will feature a 32-player draw, with a star-studded lineup competing for the title, led by defending champion and world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz.
The tournament will include several of the Tour’s most prominent names, with a total of five top-10 players in the draw, including two-time runner-up Alex de Minaur (No. 6), 2022 champion Félix Auger-Aliassime (No. 8), as well as Alexander Zverev (No. 4) and Alexander Bublik (No. 10).
Most of the players attending Rotterdam are expected to travel afterward to the Middle East to compete in Doha and/or Dubai in the following weeks, making February a packed month of tournaments ahead of the Sunshine Double in the United States.
The Rotterdam Open will be an opportunity to find rhythm for some players returning from injury, such as Jack Draper — who is set to play his first tournament since the US Open last August — and Frenchman Arthur Fils, who returns this week in Montpellier and will play his second tournament in Rotterdam after nine months out due to injury.
Rotterdam has also already announced two of its wildcards, including local player Jesper de Jong and three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, who has had no difficulty securing invitations to high-profile tournaments during his retirement year. Wawrinka will aim for a strong showing in what will be his final appearance in Rotterdam — a city where he won the title in 2015 and finished as runner-up in 2019.
