From February 7-15, 2026, the ABN AMRO Open takes place in Rotterdam as the next foray towards the Middle Eastern swing post Australian Open.
Carlos Alcaraz is top seed in Rotterdam over the next week alongside Alexander Zverev and Alex de Minaur. Alcaraz saw off Alex de Minaur last year in the 52nd edition of the tournament and returns again to attempt to defend it.
Initially staged on indoor carpet courts, it switched to indoor hard courts in 2000. The event has been a key fixture in the tennis calendar, attracting top players like Roger Federer, Björn Borg, and more recently, Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner. Arthur Ashe won the inaugural edition, while Federer holds the record for most titles (three). The tournament has been sponsored by ABN AMRO since 1974.

Predictions

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Alex de Minaur winning the title.
Alex de Minaur for me is the most likely to seal the title from the line-up. Carlos Alcaraz I see withdrawing from the tournament but if he plays he will be second favourite.
It screams the type of tournament that De Minaur will win and I also see Alexander Zverev proving a point over the next week.
I also point to Alexander Bublik as a perennial winner in these type of tournaments as someone to watch in regards to the title.
*** Alex de Minaur
** Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev
* Alexander Bublik, Daniil Medvedev
Lucas Michael, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Carlos Alcaraz as the champion.
The ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam is a high calibre event in which many of the biggest players in the world are set to compete. It is set to be headlined by the world number one Carlos Alcaraz, who will be the ultimate favourite for the event.
He has a week off after his Australian Open final participation, with him motivated and fresh from a gruelling two weeks Down Under to defend his title in the Netherlands. He is looking unstoppable on court, and I expect him to defend his title.
It will not be easy. A stacked list of participants makes the journey back to Europe, with no one stronger than Alexander Zverev. It could be a repeat of the semi-final in Melbourne, between him and the Spaniard, with Zverev kicking off the year playing some brilliant tennis.
Alex de Minaur will be looking to back up his final appearance last year. The Aussie was dejected when losing against Alcaraz in the recent Grand Slam, but he also showed a very high level to kick off the year.
Two title winners already look to add to their tally in 2026, with Alexander Bublik and Daniil Medvedev looking to get back on track after round-of-16 exits in the Australian Open, with the 2022 champion Felix Auger-Aliassime looking to continue his fine form indoors. Just across the channel, the British fans will be eager to see Jack Draper return to action with the former world number four having not stepped onto the court since the US Open.
It could very much go to any of these top players, but it is hard to go against the Alcaraz in this form.
** Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alexander Zverev
* Alexander Bublik, Daniil Medvedev, Alex de Minaur
