The 2025 China Open will have its 24th edition for men in the ATP 500 category and will mark one of the most important events of the Asian swing, with the presence of world No. 2 Jannik Sinner and No. 3 Alexander Zverev as the main favorites in a star-studded draw.
The tournament will not feature its defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz, who opted to play in the Japan Open this week, leaving a significant gap in the draw. The 2024 final was an epic duel between Alcaraz and Sinner, in which the Spaniard took the title in a third-set tie-break. Since then, there have been six consecutive finals between Alcaraz and Sinner, but unfortunately, they will be in different tournaments this week.
However, the organizers were keen to sign five top-10 players for the draw—led by Sinner—and a total of ten top-20 players. Stars like Alex de Minaur, Karen Khachanov, Jakub Mensik, and Daniil Medvedev have joined the draw of 32 players who will compete in Beijing.
The tournament has crowned luxury champions, being one of the places where we have seen a clear dominance from Novak Djokovic, with six titles won. Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, and Andy Roddick are among other historical champions of the tournament.
In the USA, the tournament will be shown in full on Tennis Channel. Sky Sports will show the tournament in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, South Tyrol, Italy, San Marino, and Vatican City. While in Australia it is shown on beIN Sports, in New Zealand it is shown on DAZN.
beIN Sports also shows the event in France. Canal+ ordinarily shows the tournaments in Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia but all are out of the reckoning for this tournament, as well as Nottingham, Iasi, Sao Paulo, Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Jiujiang. Eleven Sports shows the event in Portugal.
