The
Davis Cup Finals take place between November 18-23 and it will be shown all over the world as well as in the countries in which the top names will battle it out as the action heads to Bologna in the season curtain closer.
Spain's six-time Grand Slam winner Carlos Alcaraz as well as Alexander Zverev are among the leading lights who will be involved at the 2025 edition which takes place in Italy albeit the host nation have been hugely depleted with the news that both Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti won't play the
Davis Cup Finals this year.
Sinner in particular has played the leading role for the team in recent years and has often doubled up after the ATP Finasl but he has decided this year almost that enough is enough in regards to his schedule and that he needs a rest from the tour for a bit after a busy year. Albeit this has been met in some junctures like a lead balloon with Sinner copping heavy criticism for not taking the tournament seriously.
Musetti then withdrew late on when it looked likely he would lead the team albeit it has to be said perhaps that Novak Djokovic put him in the predicament as the Italian played Athens and Djokovic decided to not play the ATP Finals after he won the title against him meaning in theory he could've taken the Felix Auger-Aliassime route of a week off. But as a result four weeks in a row in Paris, Athens, Turin and Bologna wasn't feasible.
So they have to count on Flavio Cobolli, Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Sonego. All very much stable players to have but aren't the fire power perhaps that the Italian Tennis chiefs wanted when they paid all the cash to have the tournament here.
Speaking of, Zverev will also high tail it from from Turin to play on Thursday albeit he has been heavily critical of the event saying its not the real Davis Cup and that it is more like an exhibition. He is still playing though criticism or not. He captains Germany as they face Argentina.
How and where to watch
France v Belgium kicks off Tuesday and it can be watched in their home nations on beIN Sports for the former and RTL and VRT for the latter. Italy and Austria then continue on Wednesday with SuperTennis showing the defending champions with ORF and Tennis Channel in Austria showing Austria.
Movistar and Ceska Televize will show Spain v Czech Republic while Tomeos/DTV, EnjoyTV and TYC in Argentina and Tennis Channel in Germany are the destinations for that tie to conclude before the QF's, semi-final and Final.
Of course despite not qualifying the tournament will be shown in the UK, USA and Australia. BBC and Tennis Channel in the UK over the usual Sky Sports, while in the USA it is Tennis Channel solely. In Australia, it is TA, Nine and beIN Sports.
