Former World No.6 Hubert Hurkacz is one of the top stars missing from the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, and the Polish player recently announced he had undergone knee surgery to address a lingering issue.
A semifinalist at SW19 in 2021, Hurkacz tore his right meniscus during his second round clash against Frenchman Arthur Fils at last year's event. The Polish star has been dealing with injuries during the 2025 ATP season, and took to social media on Friday to announce he had undergone arthroscopic knee surgery.

Hurkacz will be watching SW19 this year as a fan

"Over the past few weeks, I’ve been dealing with knee issues, such as pain, fluid build-up and other problems that made it hard to train and compete,” Hurkacz wrote on social media Friday. “After exploring different options, we decided that having an arthroscopy this past Monday was the best solution.
“During the procedure, the overgrown synovial membrane causing the inflammation, pain and related issues were removed. A huge thank you to Dr. Bartlomiej Kacprzak who performed the surgery.
"I’m now starting my recovery and will only come back when I’m 110% ready to compete again. Thanks so much for all the support, it really means a lot to me and can’t wait to be back on court."
The World No.39 has reached one final in 2025, finishing runner-up to Novak Djokovic at the Geneva Open in May. Hurkacz would lose to Brazilian wonderkid Joao Fonseca in the first round of Roland Garros, and play only one match during the grass court season, at 's-Hertogenbosch before withdrawing and subsequently undergoing surgery.
