Andy Murray will begin his Qatar Open campaign this afternoon aiming to win his first title in sometime but after a throwback was shared to his first ever title win, it prompted a typically hilarious response from the former World No.1.
Murray 18 years ago today won his first ATP title in San Jose, he defeated Lleyton Hewitt 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 in the final in a tournament that also saw John McEnroe win in the doubles back in 2006. Murray was unseeded and won the title in what was the first of his career.
But in the footage, he was shown kissing his girlfriend who later became his wife and mother to his children in Kim Sears and he sent his apologies in a hilarious repost. "Huge apologies to my now wife for whatever I was doing to her mouth there...."
He added: "If I was on the receiving end of that, I would have dumped me on the spot!" A comment also read on the post itself that Murray really wanted that kiss after winning the title. Thankfully they have since had a long and fruitful marriage, but this repost was Murray at his hilarious best.
