Injury woes since US Open turns into wrist surgery for Karolina Muchova as time away from tennis continues

From one of the best years of Karolina Muchova's career to more injury hell as the Roland Garros finalist and US Open semi-finalist has had successful wrist surgery after withdrawing from more tournaments as of late including Dubai this week.
Many were wondering when Muchova would be back with multiple aborted attempts to return to tennis after suffering a wrist injury after her semi-final loss to Coco Gauff at the US Open. She tried and failed to return during the Asian Hard Court swing as well as the WTA Finals and was seen wearing a wrist splint until recently with tennis clinics taking place.
She withdrew from the Australian Open stating that she would return soon after, but after rehabilitation failed, she had to have wrist surgery. She stated that despite it being successful, she is left 'tired and sad' and that she hopes to return soon, but as the one year anniversary comes since her best ever run at a Grand Slam, it is looking unlikely that she will return for some time and a ranking drop is imminent.
"Following my injury at the US Open and an extensive rehabilitation phase, it turned out that a medical intervention was necessary. So here I am, tired and sad, but I know I'll be okay now. The surgery was successful and I’m gonna do all I can to see you on the court again soon," she wrote on social media.
It is also a Czech issue it seems with both Barbora Krejcikova and Marketa Vondrousova having success followed by long injury lay-offs. Another top Czech star, Petra Kvitova has also battled injury, but has since announced that she is pregnant so is away from tennis for now anyway.
