Hubert Hurkacz played a very solid match to down Nick Kyrgios 4-6 7-6(2) 7-6(4) in the
Halle Open semifinal moving on to the final.
It was a very good match between Hubert Huracu and Nick Kyrgios with the Polish player proving better in a very close match. As expected the serves dominated in this one and they were a huge factor in this match. We did not see a single break point until the very last games of the opening set. Kyrgios was able to create a chance and use it to take a 5-4 lead.
He closed it out with 6-4. The 2nd set featured much improved play from Hurkacz who was simply superb. His serve was working and he mixed his game very well overall. Kyrgios did not have a single break point in this set with Hurkacz having one but failing to use it. We went into the tiebreak and Hurkacz dominated with his return hitting 4 return winners.
That was spectacular and it left everybody stunned including Kyrgios. The final set was a rather comfortable for both as well with Kyrgios having to save only one break point. The Polish player once again did not allow a single break point. In the tiebreak, Hurkacz proved better once more to secure the huge win and move to the final.
