Hurkacz moves onto the clay this week after losing out at the US Open to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round at Flushing Meadows and he has made a good start.
He defeated the Portuguese ace in just under an hour and a half with 6 aces, 3/5 of break points converted and claiming 92% of 1st serve points.
He will next take on home wildcard Dennis Novak or a qualifier next up in the second round with a potential tie against Alexander Bublik or Dusan Lajovic following that.
