Tennis coach Rick Macci has declared Spain’s
Carlos Alcaraz as
the fastest player in tennis. The 20-year-old is often regarded as the most
highly-rated player currently playing in the men’s singles category.
Macci, in a post on his official account on social media
platform X — previously known as Twitter — declared that Alcaraz is the fastest
player he has ever seen in his life.
“During a podcast was asked who is the Fastest player I Ever
Saw. EASY ANSWER. I am not really sure as I could not See them. @carlosalcaraz,”
he wrote.
Alcaraz became the talk of the town after winning the
Wimbledon title in 2023. He defeated the current world number one and Serbia’s
legendary tennis star Novak Djokovic in the final in a five-set thrilling
contest with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
Other than that, Alcaraz also played in the semifinal of the
two other Grand Slams as well. In the French Open, the current world number two
lost to Djokovic in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 .
Later, Alcaraz suffered a defeat in the semifinal of the US
Open where the current world number three Russia’s Daniil Medvedev emerged
victorious with a score of 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
