"I am very happy with my game today": Carlos Alcaraz pleased to battle through double duel in Sonego and windy conditions

Carlos Alcaraz has reached the third round of the Australian Open after defeating in a tough four-set battle with two tie breaks to Italian Lorenzo Sonego. The Italian did not make things easy for the Murcian ace at any time of the duel and after the clash, he said he was very happy because the rival had made it difficult and had been able to get the clash forward.
"I am very happy with my game today. I think we both played at a great level, with a lot of intensity," Alcaraz said of his performance after playing in very windy conditions. "Even though I lost the second set, I think I played a good match. We both put on a show, making good points and some powerful shots as well. It was a great match."
Now he will play in the third round against the surprising 18-year-old Chinese Juncheng Shang, who has just eliminated the American McDonald in his debut and the Indian Nagal in his second match. All an unknown although, as it could not be otherwise, Alcaraz is the favorite.

- Having spent weeks and weeks through the years on tour, I can say with confidence that Conchita was (is) one of the very few who realize the surprising level of maturity (and sometimes lack of) which Mirra seems to have developed in such a demanding adult world of Pro-Tennis. While at the same time reminding herself (Conchita, that is) that Mirra is still young and developing mentally and physically. The general public may forget at times, or not at all realize, these modern era young athletes do not have a 'normal' Youth. It's a major sacrifice, among countless sacrifices, these athletes must make.
