"I don't think I can compare myself to Djokovic and everything he's done" says Jannik Sinner answering best player in the world debate

Jannik Sinner has shown respect to both Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz in an admission that he can't compare himself to the former in particular after being asked whether he considers himself the best player on the planet today.
Sinner could be World No.1 so by ranking could be the best player in the world by the time his home tournament of the Rome Open comes around. The Italian if he wins Madrid would put himself into pole position to be crowned the top player in the world. Novak Djokovic will miss Madrid and all the pressure will be on him to keep Sinner at bay. But while he may soon be considered the best, it isn't something he sees himself as.
He also said that he has huge respect for Carlos Alcaraz and that he just tries to stay in his lane instead of making comparisons with others. “I think it's a difficult question to answer. We always look at the current moment, and sometimes that's good, and other times it's not. I don't think I can compare myself to Djokovic and everything he's done… I have a lot of respect for him, just like I have a lot of respect for Carlos, who has won more than me. I have a lot of respect for both of them. I just try to play my tennis, be able to give my best and see what I can achieve," said Sinner as translated through Punto De Break.
