Jannik Sinner retired from his Miami Open match against Francisco Cerundolo after opening the match struggling to move and being late on many balls.
The Italian abruptly retired while being down a break in the first set sending Cerundolo into the next round. Sinner played in the final last year but he won't be able to compete for another one. It was unknown why Sinner retired but he revealed after that he had blisters that made it very difficult to move. He said:
"I had blisters and I couldn't move. I started feeling them yesterday, in the last game against Nick. Today I wanted to go out there and try, but it didn't work."
