Commentating on the Netflix Slam, the broadcasters brought all the star names out to be involved alongside Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz with Andre Agassi joining Andy Roddick and he said that he sees parallels with the former when he was at the end of his career.
Agassi said that while he saw Roddick on his way up for instance, Nadal now sees Alcaraz as this fresh hungry young talent ready to take his place and he believes that he is the next to take his place.
But this is far from ruling out Nadal with Agassi hoping that he can retire on his own terms and exit the sport when he wants to instead of having injury dictate it.
"Rafa reminded me of me when I was approaching retirement and I had people like [Andy] Roddick behind me, now it is Alcaraz today," Agassi said.
"He deserves to retire when and where he wants. I hope his body allows him to make the decision when it is really clear to him," he added.
