"I have faith" says Tsitsipas ahead of Australian Open start

Stefanos Tsitsipas is no stranger to brilliant tennis in the Rod Laver Arena and the Greek has faith he can do it again.

Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open and he generally plays rather well down under. Heading into the 2022 edition of the event, Tsitsipas was dealing with some injuries and recovering from surgery but he admitted during the press conference that he is close to 100 % right now:

"Feeling good with my arm, which is very nice to see. Have recovered very close to 100 per cent."

Asked about his preparation he said:

"My preparation is going well. I have been practicing with plenty of good players the last couple of days. The weather has been very nice, which helps a lot heading into the Australian Open."

The optimistic Tsitsipas finished off by admitting he has faith in himself competing at a high level in best of five matches:

"I have faith that it's good enough for me to compete at best-of-five sets."
