Garbine Muguruza was one set away from winning the 2020
Australian Open but ultimately she lost to Sofia Kenin in the final.
That final was very emotional for Muguruza who is yet to forget about it and move on. The Spaniard still remembers all the emotions she had each time she steps onto the Rod Laver Arena. Despite all of those emotions flooding back she is still excited to take on the challenge:
"I feel a lot of emotions when I step into the Rod Laver court
because I was very close to having this Grand Slam in my pocket. But I'm excited. It gives me the certainty that I can do it. Also
the year which I reached the final was a very tough physical year for me
because I got so sick, whole story. But I made it."
Muguruza understands that doing something similar again will be very tough but she has belief in herself. She knows she has the ability to do it:
"Why not do it again? Of course, it's complicated. You have to put so
many things together. You know how it is, it's hard. But I've done it
and I believe more than ever that I can do it again. I think I've always had that belief. I think always believing so
strongly in myself … is what make me just be at the highest level for so
many years."
