Boris Becker has given his reaction after
Holger Rune reunited with former coach
Patrick Mouratoglou, following the Dane's separation with the German earlier this year.
Becker linked up with Rune at the back end of last season in an attempt to change his form, but after the 20-year-old suffered a shock defeat in the second round at the Australian Open, he and Becker, as well as Severin Luthi, parted ways earlier this month - citing the unavailability of both men being able to travel with Rune this season.
After the news that Rune would be returning to former coach Mouratoglou, Becker gave his reaction on X, saying: “I heard the good news! Holger Rune is back with Patrick Mouratoglou! Wishing you guys lots of success in the upcoming tournaments and for the rest of the season!”
"I'm always going to be his number one fan"
Despite only working together for a short period of time, Becker issued a separate statement giving his full support to the young star. "We started this partnership with the initial goal to reach the ATP Finals end of last year but moving forward I realised that in order for this to be successful, I would need to be available for Holger much more than I can," he stated on social media.
"Due to professional and private responsibilities, I can’t give Holger what he needs now. I wish him only the very best and I’m always going to be his number one fan. I truly appreciated this journey together."
