Andrey Rublev started his 2020 Season with 8-0 record when he dominated in Doha and added the title in Adelaide ahead of the first Grand Slam of the season, Australian Open.

Considering victories over Gojo, Bautista, Krajinovic, and Pospisil at the 2019 Davis Cup, Rublev is unbeaten in a total of 12 matches already. During the first two weeks of the new season, he has won every match he played an won two titles after a dominant performance in the final. In Adelaide, it took him only 57 minutes to defeat Harris and the Russian reflected on the match which was his last before the first Grand Slam of the season, Australian Open.
“The first set was really tough because he had a couple of break points. [It] was a really nervous and tough first set. And then, I don't know, I started to play even better," Rublev continued. I think he got maybe a little bit disappointed because he had chances in the first set and he didn't make it. He was, I think, a little bit down and I started to play even better.”
At the 2020 Australian Open, Rublev will be facing Christopher O'Connell in the first round. He will be the 17th seeded player in Melbourne and can meet David Goffin in the third round. The Russian is physically and mentally 100% ready for the next big challenge as he speaks about good preparation to become a consistent player.
“I was not thinking about [this statistic], but it's an amazing feeling… I'm really happy. I hope I keep working. I hope I keep improving, and we'll see what's going to happen. This is what we are working for, to be more consistent, to be more mentally strong. And I'm happy that these two weeks went this way… I got two titles. It's amazing. I never had this before," said Rublev.
