Roger Federer is not the youngest player on the tour and each match he plays he feels it more than the average player. When asked about the scheduling he jokingly responded:
"It's unfair. But they are young, they can recover and they are very good. I hope it rains again tomorrow".
When asked about the match he said:
“I’m extremely happy. Tricky conditions inside and outside against Lorenzo, always dangerous. But I felt like after that first set, I was able to control things. It was a great match. I couldn’t be more excited to be in the quarters. It’s a big moment and I’m very, very happy.”
Federer will either face Medvedev or Hurkacz in the quarterfinals with their match to finish later today after getting postponed due to rain last night.
