Tennis star
Jannik Sinner recently won the biggest trophy of his career at the 2024
Australian Open, yet the Italian still maintains a very private life off-the court and it is reflected in his minimal activity on social media.
The 22-year old rallied from two-sets-to-love down to defeat Daniil Medvedev in a five-set thriller last Sunday in Melbourne. The Davis Cup champion looked unstoppable for the duration of the tournament, dispatching of 10-time champion Novak Djokovic in the semifinals before overcoming Medvedev to capture his maiden Grand Slam title.
Sinner wary of social media
The World No.4 returned to his home nation of Italy, where he received a hero's welcome. He was even invited to Rome, where he met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Afterwards, Sinner held a press conference, where he was asked about his lack of activity on social media compared to his peers.
"I tell the kids to be careful," replied Sinner. "Because maybe today someone is sick but on social media people post photos where everything is fine. I personally live better without social media and I will continue to do so. I don't like social media. That's not the truth, you see certain things but they're not those."
