John McEnroe has been in awe of what the big three have achieved in the past 15 years for a long time but he still finds it hard to believe.
Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have dominated professional tennis for the better part of 15 years possibly even more and John McEnroe was always in awe of that accomplishment. After Djokovic reached his 50th Grand Slam quarterfinal the American tennis legend was almost speechless.
He said:
"This is crazy stuff that we've been witnessing in the last 10-15 years with these three guys. I think he's going to win the Grand Slam. This is the 50th time he has been in a Grand Slam quarter-final, are you kidding me?"
The comments were made to BBC as McEnroe is doing coverage of Wimbledon for them this year. He followed up his comments by saying:
"He still looks like the champion. That doesn't automatically mean it's going to happen but I take him over the field."
